Monkeys, this is not so much what I was anticipating - is a trailer or in my general awareness of how Hollywood likes to remove the true emotions and true morality, touches everything - I hesitate to reveal even less spoilerish moments. Even those that take place in the opening scenes of the film. Since there is a simple pleasure to be had only to find that there is something more, even though the summer blockbuster primarily designed to address the crowd popcorn. Black and white, I thought that I was not here at all. This is not a screed against genetic engineering, or science in general, even if the investigator is James Franco to do some things immoral and medical professional treatment of diseases of the brain, which could improve.
Franco Will Rodman is incredibly sympathetic to what he might be arrogant Dr. Frankenstein, a mad scientist role, which is partly due to the intelligent script by Rick Jaffa and Amanda Silver, but more as a new quality of Franco (Your Highness, The Green Hornet), a sensitive, perceptive and talented so unsentimental, Rupert Wyatt (whose only major credit was recently a British indie-Escapist).
None of the hot button issues are hammered out, just lightly touched: the humane treatment of animals, DNA manipulation, corporate greed, family values, tendrils that our uncertain world civilization thrive and could so easily fall. This allows for some very powerful, deeply moving moments - those without an iota of cornball for them - like the drug improved chimpanzees genius of Caesar (motion capture Andy Serkis: Brighton Rock, Inkheart) starts make discoveries about unpleasant place in the world. It asks a simple question, using sign language, making for one of the most disturbing moments in movies this year, partly because it has no clear answer ... Will we see when is a quick and sincere to it soon undermined by the harsh reality in a world that is not ready to face the likes of Caesar.
What Wyatt and Serkis and Weta FX team did with Caesar here is extraordinary, pushing the limits of what technology can do. Caesar is fully alive in a way that many movie characters often not a human creature of complex emotions that can easily produce complex thank you for. It creates an unusual tension alone in the film - thriller, you do not even know you were moved by, until it culminates in moments totally unexpected and completely right.
Similarly, although we know how monkeys should end - that is, in the title of the film! - He feels just as completely fluid and direct, it's like we really do not know where he will go to all. The action sequences contain real drama. Often it is too easy to predict how a given car chase film and shooting will, but what we get here is not something we've seen a thousand times before and have internalized the rhythms. Battle of the Golden Gate Bridge between monkeys (up position) and mounted officers surprisingly fresh and original, and therefore unpredictable. Yet the film does not try to do too much: it's not just tale room for a sequel (which notes scattered throughout the film), there is room for emotional, too. We want to know more about what happens to Caesar. The opinions are welcome, not something to fear.
When we escape to the movies is the kind of movie we're talking about ... or we should be. Avoidance is not what is happening on screen, but what happens to us: You want to get lost in a movie. Want to be happy. Want to forget you're watching a movie at all. This is the essence of the film, and which seems to be almost forgotten.
